The Nimbus Abstraction Framework (NAF) is a system that allows applications to discover each other on a network without requiring the apps to have any prior knowledge of each other. NAF can support many different kinds of network and can route messages between devices on different networks.
NAF is intended to be developed as an open standard.
A NAF implementation written in Java is currently being developed as part of the Nimbus project but further NAF implementations could be written using in any language and on any platform.
